My Fall TV Lineup (2015)

I realize that it has been forever since my last entry.  Life has been keeping me pretty busy.  I’ve got a whole bunch of entry backlog again, all pending review and/or completion before posting.  Hopefully at some point I’ll get around to doing all that.

tv

In the meantime, I still check my Twitter account every now and again, and right now my feed seems to be bursting with information from all my favorite TV series that I follow.  Which in turn brought about the inspiration for this entry.  Below are all the TV shows I’m excited about and plan on watching; although, with the way my schedule is, I’ll likely have to catch everything on demand as opposed to when episodes first air.  In no particular order (except by premiere date):

MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 21ST

Series: Gotham
Season: 2
Time: Mondays, 8/7c
Network: Fox
Comments: I got super busy right around the time the first season kicked off, and by the time I had a chance to even attempt to catch up on the series online, the earlier parts of the season were inaccessible online.  I tend to not like jumping into a new series right in the middle, so I’ve decided to wait until one of the streaming services have it from the beginning.  This series looks good though.

Series: The Big Bang Theory
Season: 9
Time: Mondays, 8/7c
Network: NBC
Comments: Can’t really explain it, but this series definitely tickles my soul.  I’ve had my ups and downs with some of it, but for the most part, it’s the character of Sheldon that keeps me coming back every week.  I find him rather endearing.

Series: Minority Report
Season: 1
Time: Mondays, 9/8c
Network: Fox
Comments: I wonder if the sudden trend of superhero TV shows inspired this, but now it seems like networks are interested in making pseudo-sequels to movies by serializing them, not that I’m necessarily complaining.  Minority Report was a movie I really enjoyed, and the television series also seems quite intriguing.  Some of the trailer actually reminded me a bit of another back in the day show, Early Edition, though with a lot more special effects, of course.

TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 22ND

Series: Limitless
Season: 1
Time: Tuesdays, 10/9c
Network: CBS
Comments: I don’t really recall liking the movie all too much, and I doubt this is a series I’ll commit to, but I am curious enough to try a few episodes.  We’ll see if my opinion changes once I give it a go.

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 27TH

Series: CSI
Season: 2-hour series finale movie
Time: 9/8c
Network: CBS
Comments: Part of me can’t believe this series is ending.  CSI: Miami was my favorite, and with the recent launch of CSI: Cyber, for some reason I was almost sure this first series would be around for a whole lot longer.

Series: Once Upon a Time
Season: 5
Time: Sundays, 8/7c
Network: ABC
Comments: At some point, I need to marathon this series.  I started the first season and then dropped it, but I’m not quite sure why.  I found it entertaining, but I couldn’t find myself getting too attached to it.

TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 29TH

Series: Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Season: 3
Time: Tuesdays, 9/8c
Network: ABC
Comments: Love this series.  I’m excited it’s back, and I look forward to what this season will bring.

WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 30TH

Series: Criminal Minds
Season: 11
Time: Wednesdays, 9/8c
Network: CBS
Comments: After CSI: Miami got canceled, I became 100% invested in this.  Even though I’m not a fan of watching violent scenes, there’s just something that draws me in about this series, and I think it was for the same reason I liked shows like Burn Notice and CSI: Miami.  The cast.  My favorite definitely has to be the on-going playful banter between Morgan and Garcia (and I realize they will never get together, but I still secretly hold out hope), and Reid.  Also the stories are always so engaging, and I just can’t get enough.

Series: Chicago P.D.
Season: 3
Time: Wednesdays, 10/9c
Network: NBC
Comments: Been meaning to get into this spin-off, but haven’t had the time.  Someday, though, for sure.

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 1ST

Series: The Blacklist
Season: 3
Time: Thursdays, 9/8c
Network: NBC
Comments: Another show I’ve been meaning to get invested in.  I like Diego Klattenhoff, and the premise definitely seems interesting.

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 4TH

Series: CSI: Cyber
Season: 2
Time: Sundays, 10/9c
Network: CBS
Comments: At first, I wasn’t fond of anything about this show.  I didn’t like the song that they chose, and the way each episode starts out kind of irks me a little.  I’m also not sure if I’m a huge fan of Patricia Arquette’s acting, and I also think that the addition of Bow Wow to the cast is so random and quirky, but the show (and the cast) totally grew on me and now I find myself looking forward to new episodes.  The cliffhanger last season also made me curious how the writers are planning on resolving that little plotline, so there’s that to look forward to.

TUESDAY, OCTOBER 6TH

Series: The Flash
Season: 2
Time: Tuesdays, 8/7c
Network: The CW
Comments: Love, love, LOVE this series.  Sure they completely turned the comic canon on its head, but I can accept that.  I think there’s a lot of chemistry in the cast and I absolutely love Grant Gustin as The Flash and Wentworth Miller is phenomenal as Captain Cold.  I don’t typically like the baddies, but the way Miller portrays his character, I can’t help actually liking Cold. (And I would also so totally forgive it if the writers were like screw it, we’ll actually make him and his sister cross over to the good side.  Yes, I could absolutely live with that.)

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 7TH

Series: Arrow
Season: 4
Time: Wednesdays, 8/7c
Network: The CW
Comments: It’s going to be interesting to see a “happy” Oliver Queen, and I am interested to see how he will transition into The Green Arrow.  I think the best decision they made was to have this series connect with The Flash, because I feel like a new life has been breathed into this series as a result.

Series: Supernatural
Season: 11
Time: Wednesdays, 9/8c
Network: The CW
Comments: I don’t exactly follow this series, because I do a lot of skipping around, mostly due to it being in the horror genre and I don’t have a stomach for it.  I will, however, check out an episode here and there if I find a synopsis intriguing.  I’ll also often fast forward within the episode to avoid watching anything too violent or gory.  I caught the tail end of the season finale last season though, and I am interested in finding out what happens next, so I’ll probably tune in at least for the next few episodes until I get a few answers to some questions I have.

TUESDAY, OCTOBER 13TH

Series: Chicago Fire
Season: 4
Time: Tuesdays, 10/9c
Network: NBC
Comments: Kind of fell behind on this series once classes started.  At some point, I need to marathon the latter half of the third season and then hop into the fourth.  Always good to see Jesse Spencer.  I always thought he was underrated on House, M.D., and I love his character on this show, even if he does make some bad decisions from time to time.

MONDAY, OCTOBER 26TH

Series: Supergirl
Season: 1
Time: Mondays, 8:30/7:30c
Network: CBS
Comments: This seems so interesting.  Even as a girl, I’ve found a lot of shows that kind of seem to promote “girl power” come out kind of awkward, but this one actually looks fairly promising, so I’m interested in watching it develop.  I’ll definitely be tuning in for the first several episodes to see if it’s something I find I can personally commit to.

With how crazy my schedule is right now, I don’t really have time to go to the theater like I did before and watch a new movie each week.  I won’t really be able to watch shows the same day that they air either, but it is still easier to catch up on those online than the extra steps it takes to go out and head to a theater in order to catch a movie.  So you guys might see more TV-related entries on here for a while.  At some point I may compile together a directory of sorts listing all of my favorite shows and their social media accounts on a separate page, but it all depends on how much time I have to do such a thing.  Anyhow, that’s it for now.  See you all next entry, whenever that may be.
